On May 30, 2023, China’s Shenzhou-16 manned spacecraft was successfully launched. Three Chinese astronauts (Taikonauts), JING Haipeng, ZHU Yangzhu and GUI Haichao, have started their space life at the Tiangong Space Station for half a year. One of their important tasks in space is to display 10 First-Prize works in the “My Dream” Painting Competition for African Youth launched in March this year.
The “African Dream Goes to Space, TALKS WITH TAIKONAUTS” event and “My Dream” Painting Competition Award Ceremony will be held around September this year, and show the exhibition of African youth’s paintings in the Tiangong Space Station. A Taikonaut who has returned to Earth after a previous space trip will attend the event in Beijing, and take questions from African youth via video connection. Following the "TALKS WITH TAIKONAUTS" event in 2022, we sincerely invite South Sudanese youth to raise questions to the Taikonaut, and the Chinese Embassy in South Sudan will convey your questions to the Taikonaut. We look forward to your participation!
South Sudanese youth, if you are interested, please send your questions together with your name, age, school name, location and contact information to the Chinese Embassy in Juba via email: chinaemb_ss@mfa.gov.cn before June 30, 2023, and don't forget to name “African Dream Goes to Space” in the subject.
