Chinese Embassy Hosts Reception of the Chinese New Year and Reunion of South Sudanese Participants Attending 2023 Chinese Government Training Programs

On February 1, 2024, the Reception of the Chinese New Year and reunion of South Sudanese participants attending 2023 Chinese government training programs was held in the Chinese Embassy in Juba. Chinese Ambassador H.E. MA Qiang, South Sudan’s Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Hon. Mary Nawai Martin as well as other South Sudanese government senior officials, trainees of Chinese government training programs and representatives of the Chinese community attended the reception.

Amb. MA Qiang reviewed the major achievements in China’s development and China-South Sudan cooperation, pointed out that the Chinese path to modernization will provide a model for the vast developing countries, including South Sudan, to independently explore their own development paths. He further stressed that China stays committed to further consolidating China-South Sudan people-to-people ties by expanding cooperation and exchanges including capacity building training under the banner of building a community with a shared future for mankind.

Hon. Mary Nawai Martin, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, on behalf of H.E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit, extended the Chinese New Year greetings. She reiterated the commitment of the South Sudanese government to one-China principle, spoke highly of the fruitful outcomes of South Sudan-China practical cooperation in various fields especially human resources development, and expressed the readiness to further promote bilateral friendship.

Representatives of Chinese government training programs participants shared their study experience in China and understanding about Chinese modernization, and expressed the commitment to contributing to South Sudan’s development and its friendly cooperation with China.
